Why join Canadian Women in VC?
By joining us as a member, you will be part of a grassroots organization that gives self-identified women venture capitalists across Canada the opportunity to share best practices, network, and support each other's career development.
What began in 2018 as a bi-monthly dinner series between 5 women, has grown into a community with over 350 active members who are connected through our initiatives. Our members accounts for almost all of the women investors in VC in Canada.
Perks as a member
We manage a Slack community of over 300 women in VC to connect, share job openings, share deal flow and resources to grow. We have on average 120 active members on a weekly basis.
Community
We provide a Slack channel, events, and a member directory to maintain a tight-knit community and opportunities to network.
Learning
We organize curated learning sessions, such as bootcamps and webinars to empower our community with the skills to meet their career goals.
Championship
We provide support to our members to gain champions and exposure through a mentorship program and speaking opportunities.
Resources
We empower women in the VC community, including an annual compensation survey and standard policies.

We have four chapters throughout Canada where we host networking events for women in VC to meet and find representation in roles they would aspire to take. From intimate dinners to large-scale informal gatherings, we have had very successful turnouts that allowed members to reconnect with familiar faces and make new connections.

Champion’s program
We run a Champions program every year, a unique mentorship initiative that connects non-partner female VCs to leading GPs to help them accelerate their careers. Some GPs who participate come from the most prestigious VC funds in Canada.
Bootcamp
Similarly, we run Bootcamps, free programs offered to all community members at different levels in their careers to support their professional growth.

The Woman in VC Member Directory is a self-reported database of the investors and funds involved in the Women in VC community. This database allows women to share deal flow, create syndicates, and connect with other female investors across Canada.
Newsletter
Every month, we send out monthly digest newsletters to every woman in our community outlining major industry events, job openings and initiatives.

We are consistently building and sharing new resources to empower women in the VC community. Our most valuable initiatives include an annual compensation survey shining a light on wage standards in Venture Capital across Canada to support salary equity.
Our members are also connected with various organizations for speaking opportunities, event appearances, and conference attendance.
